A one-day drawing programme for children aged 8 – 13 years
When: Tuesday 28 or Thursday 30 September or Tuesday 5 or Thursday 7 October, 2010; 9.30am – 4pm
Where: Auckland Zoo, Motions Road, Western Springs.
Cost: $87 including gst, materials, Zoo entry and an Animal Encounter
Bring: Children need to bring food and drinks for the day along with warm

clothing. Please make sure your child is wearing footwear suitable for walking! Our programme will go ahead rain or shine – so please also bring a waterproof jacket in the event of rain.
Meet: Our tutors will be outside the main Zoo entrance building, on the lefthand side, from 9.15am onwards. Look for the Fine Young Artists sign.
Our one-day Art Safari will be busy and full of fun. Working in small groups (10 children to one tutor) we will spend the day exploring Auckland Zoo and learning
many different drawing techniques and skills on our explorations. Our focus will be on drawing the animals as much as their Zoo habitat. We will use numerous drawing mediums and each child will get their own Visual Diary to record their studies and drawings – creating their own ‘explorer in the wilderness’ journal to take home with them. And to really make the day memorable, Auckland Zoo are including an Animal Encounter, an exclusive opportunity to get up close and learn about some of the beautiful creatures who live in the Zoo's Discovery and Learning Centre. Does it get any more PAWFECT!
