Our Extended Curriculum programme is ideal for primary and intermediate schools that have some talented art students but lack the luxury of an on-site art expert.
This is a 15 hour programme, which can run over a ten week period (1 and half hours per week) or over 2-3 days. It is ideal for middle and senior school students, working in groups of 12 or less. Students simplify and modify the portrait as it becomes the puzzle elements that make up “the pieces of me”, creating a very contemporary collage in the manner of our role model artist, Will Handley.
In this 90 minute workshop we increase the range of cogniscent drawing skills of our participants. Through a range of drawing exercises students learn about proportion, shape, weight of line, observation, recording texture or surface, perspective, and much much more. We use a variety of different drawing mediums - graphite, pitt pastel, conte and chinographs. This programme is ideal for children in school years 3 - 8 and works exceptionally well when teachers are taken through the workshop first as PD, then participate with their own classrooms in the student workshops.
